Privacy Policy

ACOB helps you pick dinner. To do that we need very little about you: a name and email if you register, a ZIP code to find nearby food, and your swipes. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads against it, and restaurants never pay to see it or to influence your results.

Registration. If you create a profile: your name and email address. That's the only personally identifying information we ask for.

Session data. Your vibe settings (ZIP code, distance, price range, dine-in/takeout/ delivery) and your swipes. Most of this lives in your browser's local storage on your device; when session analytics are enabled, swipe events are stored against an anonymous session identifier — not your name or email.

Feedback & surveys. Ratings and comments you choose to submit.

Product analytics. We use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand how the app is used (which screens people reach, where they drop off). Analytics identifiers are anonymous, text you type is masked from any session recordings, and we do not use analytics data to build advertising profiles.

Location. If you grant location permission we use your position only to compute distances to restaurants. If you decline, we fall back to the center of your ZIP code. We do not store a history of your movements.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We do not show third-party ads or share your data with ad networks.

We never let restaurants pay to see your data or to influence which dishes you're shown — tournament fairness is a hard product rule.

Couples-mode invite and result links carry your session state (vibe settings and swipe outcomes) encoded in the link itself. Anyone you send a link to can open it — treat it like a shared note. Links contain no name or email.

Registration, feedback, and session data are stored with Supabase (our database provider) on infrastructure in the United States. Analytics data is processed by our analytics provider. These providers process data on our behalf and under their own security commitments; they don't get to use your data for themselves.

We keep registration data while your profile is active and session data for as long as it's useful for improving the product. Want out? Email jordanedwardyates@gmail.com and we'll delete your registration and any data tied to it, usually within 30 days.

ACOB is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we'll delete the record.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the effective date above and note the change in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
